Tank Bag "BigBag"
|
This tank bag was originally created for the R1200 GS and the design has proven itself to be a good one to the delight of many satisfied owners world-wide. We have adapted this rugged bag to now fit a wide range of models in addition to the GS. For each subsequent model, the bag has received special, model specific design alterations. Although each version of the tank bag is uniquely model specific, the basic design and features are identical to the tank bag demonstrated in the video.

I bought this bag because of the flexibility of the map pouch. After using the bag I realize the map pouch is the weak link of the bag. It should have velcro to hold it down. If there is a cross wind or when passing high wind vehicles the map pouch flaps around. If you secure it on all of the side clips to the elastic ropes, it is VERY inconvenient to open the top lid. Another example of the designer not using the product they designed.
So glad I purchased this tank bag. It fits like a glove, installation was easy and its easy to flip to get gas. The inside pouch does need either a zipper or some type of closure in my opinion. Everything else on this bag is perfect.
Just bought the bag and came back from a 4,000km trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The bag is very roomy, easy to put on and off and stays out of the way while riding. It feels very planted on the tank and does not move about. Two suggestions: 1) I added a Velcro strip to the cover lid inside pocket. Things tend to fly away when opening the lid. 2) the 3 outside pockets could have a slighty larger capacity, specialy the rear facing one with could double its volume.
I've been using tank bags for close to 30 years and have owned plenty of them. This is by far the highest-quality, best-thought-out bag I've used - and it fits my GS like a glove. The oversize map pouch is especially handy. My only quibble is that I'd like to see velcro or a zipper to close the pocket on the inside of the top flap. It's great to have a pocket there, but stuff falls out easily.
