Compact and ingenious
11 foot cord
AirMan Sparrow Air PumpAlways maintain proper air pressure, no matter where you are, with the AirMan Compact Air pump. This pump features a plug that will fit in any BMW accessory socket and is easily convertible to also fit a standard cigarette lighter size power socket. The pump has a built-in pressure gauge and on/off switch. There is also a convenient storage compartment for storage of the included inflation adapters but there's enough room to also store tire plugs or patches.
The pump has about eleven feet of power cord and everything fits conveniently inside of this light and compact unit. This is a completely redesigned and improved pump. The hose fitting has brass threads and seal tightly on the valve stem. The gauge is accurate and easy to read. The pump is reliable and easily capable of fully inflating tires to operating pressure. The pump will fill most bicycle tires in under one minute and most car tires in about seven minutes. Filling a motorcycle tire will lie somewhere in-between.
Please note: If your bike has a can-bus electrical system (most 2005 model and later BMWs) the inherent design of your bike's accessory outlet, may not power this pump when the engine is not running. The cure for this is to install a second accessory outlet that's wired directly to your battery. This item is available under the Related Products.
We also have a very nice optional carrying case available that was specifically designed for the AirMan pump. The case will protect your pump and not take up any significant additional space, as the pump fits inside perfectly. The case is also available under the Related Products.

I needed a pump to refill f800gs tkc80 tires after trail riding. We drop from 40 to about 20 psi at the trailhead every ride, weekends, I installed a standard outlet from Westmarine direct to batt with 15a fuse due to canbus tripping after 3 seconds. Refills two sets of tires with ease and we all like the accurate gauge. Feels and looks like good quality and my riding buddies tried to buy it from me the first day.
I like the size, and the power of this little pump. It appears to be built well, and should last awhile.
I bought this pump because my other one (included in a battery-pack 12V-starter kit) recently died after 3min of continuous use. First impression: This pump comes with a BMW accessory 12V plug and is quite small, which is very good for taking it on road trips. First use on my BMW bike and on my car worked out well, the gauge shows accurate pressure. The pump is a little loud though, but for the price and size it's ok. Future will tell how long it will work.
I had to install a BMW Style Socket Kit Part Number: 8600670 for this pump to work on my 2009 BMW R1200GSA. The pump pulled too much current, the electronic fuse was tripped, and the system de-energized the circuits to the two plugs I already had. Ed, here at Wunderlich America, hand made this socket with 36 inch wires to connect directly to my battery, problem solved...we shall see in the field.
Nice little device for topping off tire pressure. Not sure I'd want to depend on it for a complete fill, would take forever. But in the case of a flat out in the boonies would get you going if you could plug the tire. It has no problem putting 42psi into the rear tire.
The Sparrow is well designed compact unit. Works well. Quick inflation, Perfect for the peace of mind if needed.
I purchased this pump this past January expecting an easy to carry pump with solid performance. However, upon testing I found that the pump will turn off as soon as it hits 20-25 psi. It's either defective or simply not apt for filling motorcycle tires up to 30-35 psi. I donīt recommend this product for use with a motorcycle.
Purchased for my K1600GTL. Plugged into a power outlet it immediately tripped the circuit breaker. I solved the problem by connecting one of the power outlets directly to the battery with a 15 amp fuse.
Plenty of pressure to harden em up. A handy thing for offroading/slabbing on the same ride...
When I first got it, I tried it out on my BMW R1150R, my vespa, and my Land Rover. I even pumped up my neighbors wheelchair. It takes a few minutes to pump up the Land Rover tires but it works. I got it primarily for the BMW r1150r - very handy to have around and it's compact adn light enough to easily bring on a long tour. It's also much quieter than other portable pumps I've had.
