This is a burst proof plastic canister, thoroughly tested by the strict German safety authority TÜV. It is approved for gasoline storage and features a manual pressure relieving cap and handy pouring spout. The capacity is 2 liters (over ˝ gallon) and it can really save the day if you come up short on your range calculation. The integrated strap loop offers a sturdy attachment point for keeping the can upright. We recommend attaching the can to the exterior of your saddlebag. The U-Brackets available under the Related Products tab are ideal for this purpose. A minimum of four brackets are needed. Six are however highly recommended if rough terrain is where you are headed. The strap, also available under the Related Products tab, is also ideally suited. If you are using 4 brackets, one strap per can should do the trick. When using six brackets however, we suggest two straps.

The can measures 3 X 5 X 8-1/2 and the spout protrudes about 2 from the top surface.

Not DOT or CARB approved.

range extension

Reviewed by michael carmack from mojave/tehachapi, CA (9.22.2012)

I purchased one of these cans and for what I wanted it is very well suited. True you must use a funnel to fill but I wanted something that I could store in my side case that would give me 25 to 30 miles for unplaned fuel shortage, and only that. Not for planned range but for un-planned or un forseen events. It requires very little space and provides for that little extra distance when needed. Perfect for me. High quality!

Larger than I'd hoped

Reviewed by Fulton Martin from San Diego, CA (6.17.2012)

I was hoping to mount these on the rear of my Jesse Odyssey bags, but they're just a bit too big. And the tiny opening requires use of a funnel to fill them, so they're pretty much for emergency use (but that's why I bought them). They don't leak, so I have no problem packing them into the saddlebag where I keep my tools / electronics / cameras.

2 liter jerry can

Reviewed by John H. Johnson from Colorado Springs, CO (3.18.2012)

Good solution for my R1200R, two of them give me an additional 48 miles, I have a reserve when I am in western Kansas or Texas. They are a bit diffcult to fill, the Wunderlich reuseable funnel, or one time use funnels, solve the problem for me when I am on the road. The can's fit anwhere, hard cases, top case, or bolt them on.

extra a plus

Reviewed by Lester Higgins from Coeurdalene, Idaho (1.19.2012)

this is for extra fluids and the spout is really only needed if you are carrying extra motor oil. If you are out of gas just remove the top and pour, saves walking to the nearest gas station. An extra 25-30 miles can be a leg saver

Just does not work!

Reviewed by Thierry Tanguy from Vancouver, BC (7.6.2010)

Great idea, poor execution. The opening is too small to fill the jerrycan without a funnel, first issue (if you need to carry a funnel, the one asset of the jerrycan, its compact nature, is largely lost) . Then if you ever want to use it, the supplied spout isn't tight enough, and gas leaks all over your hands and the tank! Bought it for 'safety' on my last road trip, was promptly 'recycled' as soon as I got back!
