AWS 19 Amp Hr Battery

In 1944, the allied forces were rapidly closing in on Berlin and while still possible, one of Germany’s leading battery manufacturers at the time, relocated their production facilities to a small village in the mountainous region of south Eastern Germany to escape destruction. From the end of the war to the fall of the wall, The AWS battery factory became the major producer of lead acid batteries in the former German Democratic Republic. After the reunification of Germany, AWS continued under private ownership and specialized in manufacturing high quality motorcycle batteries. So there is your history lesson for today.

These batteries are the old fashioned, lead acid type battery. They are supplied dry, and do not include the required acid (electrolyte). You will need to fill the battery with fresh battery acid, let it cool down and then charge it before installing. Many motorcycle shops will do this for a nominal fee. If you have at least a 2 amp charger, you can also fill and prepare it yourself. Most auto parts stores sell battery acid (electrolyte) in small containers for less than $10.00.

These are excellent batteries and with basic maintenance, they will provide you with reliable and excellent service for years. Here at Wunderlich America, we use these batteries in our own bikes and they have never let us down. There is no warranty with these batteries but we’re really quite sure that you will be completely satisfied. Compared to the high cost of a new battery from BMW, this battery is an excellent value! Please understand however that if you order one, it’s yours.

Dimensions are identical to the Original battery (L~7-1/4” x W~3” x H~6-3/4”) and it also has the plastic flip up terminal protectors. Fresh hardware, a vent tube and 90 degree vent fitting is included.
