Wunderlich Vario Levers

Vario Levers represent a revolution in ergonomics, functionality and safety. In addition to allowing adjustable reach, they are also adjustable in length. These levers allow precise adjustment to exactly suit the needs of the rider in various situations and additionally, really look great. Adjusted all the way in, the levers are about 1/2 inch closer to the grip however it actually feels like more because the shape of the lever is more parallel to the handlebar than the stock lever. A shorter lever can offer more precise control with less effort.

With the “Vario Levers” it’s now possible to activate the clutch and brake with two or three fingers, without pinching the remaining finger(s). This allows the lever to be adjusted closer to the grip, safely. Length adjustment is quickly and easily carried out by loosening the set screw, setting the desired length and then tightening. Another unique feature of the ‘Vario Lever’ is the ability to easily adjust the reach by turning the adjuster with your index finger while riding. This is useful when dealing with a changing pressure point, when for example riding on the track or negotiating a technical mountain road. The adjustment wheel is easy to operate, even with thick winter gloves.

You need have no doubt about the structural integrity of these levers. Even fully extended, the lever can withstand a force of over 130 pounds (!) without incident. The levers are exquisitely machined of aluminum and anodized. All materials and processes used in manufacturing conform to aircraft standards and of course, these levers have been tested and approved by the strict German TÜV.

Please Note: Levers are sold individually. Price stated is for one lever.
Please choose one clutch lever (L) and one brake lever (R) for a matched pair. Simply enter the desired quantity of each lever and then click Add to Cart.

Tip: After you install the levers, adjust the blade length to suit your preference and then tighten the screw. A drop of Thread Locking Fluid on the threads of the adjusting screw is highly recommended. (available under the Related Products tab)

Very good lever...but,

Reviewed by Kurt from roseville, California (6.2.2014)

I bought both this and the brake lever. They are both very good, however the price made it a tough purchase. Be aware that this lever will NOT disengage the neutral safety switch when it is adjusted to it's minimum setting. Your results may be different. One click out, however and the bike starts fine. Having said all that, I would recommend both these levers if you have smaller hands and need a bit more comfort with shifting and braking.

Vario Clutch Lever

Reviewed by Jeff Rulis from Warrensburg, MO (5.31.2014)

Very easy installation and lever works well. I have problems with my hands and fingers so this adjustable lever works well. Just be careful to adjust the cable correctly to allow it to start the engine.

Great levers for small hands!

These levers are a quality item with excellent adjustability and feel. I installed them in 30 minutes (both clutch and brake). I would recommend them for anyone who needs a shorter reach and wants to improve the safe handling of their bike.

A might pricey, but a good product. Easy install. Much better for 2 finger clutching than the stock lever. Color choices for a little bling too!!!

Great levers

Reviewed by Mark Spencer from Bend, OR (3.3.2012)

I bought these levers for my BMW F800ST. The OEM levers were a bit long and had minimal adjustability. The Wunderlich vario levers have adjustment for lever reach and length. Plus, the OEM adjustment remains as well. I use three fingers on the clutch and two on the brakes and have each side adjusted accordingly. They have a very nice finish and are quite easy to install. A bit on the spendy side, but well worth it.

2011 F800ST Happy Rider

Reviewed by Manon from Port Coquitlam, BC (9.13.2011)

I installed a clutch side Vario lever on my 2011 F800ST and it has made a huge difference on long twisty rides. I installed them myself and adjusted the clutch tension. Although I would like to use them on the closest setting when I took my bike for service the tech indicated to not use the lever beyond the 3rd setting. The clutch was not disengaging fully at the closest setting. Continued use would result in premature clutch replacement. This information would have been useful when I was setting the levers up. Ideally a lever specified for a particular model should be confirmed to work throughout the full range, or a note indicating the issue I encountered. Never the less, setting 3 is a significant improvement over the stock lever for reach adjustment. I would recommend these for female riders or riders with limited reach. Overall satisfaction 8 out of 10.

Clutch handle is ok

Reviewed by Bob from Spokane, WA (9.1.2011)

The build and fit are excellent. Typical for a Wunderlich product. It was fairly easy to install. My only disappointment was the range of adjustment in the distance from the handle bar. I have purchased less expensive levers for other bikes that were far more adjustable.

Well worth the price.

I recently purchased a set of these levers for my wife's F650GS twin and I have to say they have been a very nice addition to the bike. The reach is significantly reduced and the pull tension for the clutch is way less. The wife has small hands and these are big pluses of her. Happy wife, happy life. Mission accomplished!!
