    Side Stand Enlarger

Your bike can really benefit from one of these side stand plates because asphalt or soft sand can cause an unsafe situation when parking on the side stand. This Wunderlich part solves the problem by increasing the surface area of your side stand foot. It is designed to fit perfectly and be easy to install and that makes this accessory a sensible improvement for your BMW. When installing, apply a drop or two of Loctite or similar thread locking fluid to the retaining screws to ensure that they do not loosen and fall out. (available under the Related Products)

Note: Please see the Related Products above for the optional Spike Set. The spikes not only offer additional grip with the ground, they also add some height which can reduce the amount of lean angle.

    Great idea - bad fit
    | September 26th, 2018
The dinky foot on the standard kickstand of the Dakar has always been an issue for me. My father gifted me one of these enlargers last year as a solution. For the price, I would think it would fit better than it did; it went on easy but never sat flush on the foot, with a tendency to slide a from side-to-side. I was cautious about keeping the screws tight, but the fit got worse and worse as I used it. Sure enough, it popped off yesterday while I was riding. I won't be ordering another one.

Great Product exact fit for my 2001 F650GS

Great fit, super easy install. I was afraid it was going to look gaudy or clunky but it gives a bigger foot print without looking bad at all.
    Great install

Easy to install. Fits perfectly. I don't understand why others say it is not a fit for the bike. Mine was perfectly formed to house the base of the existing stand. Four torx screws with some blue loc and good to go. Much more stable. Also it makes deploying the stand easier. Prior to this it was a bit of effort to engage. Not I use this extrusion to easily deploy the stand. Great product and looks fantastic. Much more secure.

    Does not fit the bike

I ordered this for a 2010 F650GS and it does not fit the foot of the side stand. The aperture is way to big.
Good idea, doesn't work quite as well as I hoped

Maybe it's just me, or maybe this works better with other years (I have a 2006 f650gs), but here are the problems I have with it. 1) the thing drags on the pavement on left hand corners. These aren't crazy corners, just moderate corners on a windy road. I hope it isn't a safety issue, but it is annoying to hear that dragging sound on left hand corners. There is no obvious way to adjust my kick stand higher without Jerry-rigging it. It seems that if they hadn't centered the thing on the stand and offset it to the high side, I wouldn't have ground a quarter of an inch off it within a couple of weeks while riding to work. 2) The edge I ground off by cornering to the left is SHARP and out of sight so when I was feeling around for what was dragging I was lucky not to have cut myself. Which maybe should be called 1) b) instead of 2, because it comes from the same problem as issue #1. 3) the little serrated teeth you see in the photo look like they are to grip your boot when you put the stand down, but there is something on my side stand that sticks out beyond those teeth, so they are kind of pointless (to make a pun). I think this will increase the bike's resistance to falling if I park in the dirt, and it looks really cool, I just wish it had been a bit better designed.
    Very good product

I\'m very satisfied with this product.
Easy install, good quality and fit

I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the price & shipping.
