Sprocket - 17 Teeth

These sprockets are a high quality product, made of tough steel in the "Diamond-Cut" procedure. The F650 GS Twin and F800 GS come standard with the following sprocket sizes: (Number of teeth Front / Rear)

The F650 GS twin is geared taller than the F800, better for touring and street riding, plus increased fuel economy is achieved through lower engine RPMs at any given speed. If you are riding off road however, and could use a bit more low-end power, installing our sprockets can allow you to lower your gearing like the F800 GS

Conversely, the F800 GS has a very low gearing, perfect for off road but if you are finding that most of your riding is on the pavement, you may benefit from a taller gearing ratio. This will reduce the engine speed necessary to move you down the road.

Either way, replacing the front (counter) sprocket will result in the most change but for optimal results in either direction, changing both front and rear sprockets is recommended.

Well Worth It

First off, it barely fits in the space next to the swing-arm, but it does fit. Fuel economy has greatly improved. My F-800GS went from about 46 to 52 mpg and the engine rpms have been greatly reduced, taking the engine into a sweet spot at highway cruising speeds and the high rpm vibration is largely gone. The only problem, and a minor one for me because most of my traveling is on gravel roads or pavement, is that traveling on tight trails in first gear at a speed just greater than walking is worse. Without a lot of clutch work, you can't go slow enough.
