    Wunderlich Seat, Tall

The new generation of ERGO Seats: Well thought at every step of the design, with many innovative solutions. The original seat suffers from an unfavorable form which places undue strain on the tailbone, and the angle of the seat leads many riders to adopt a bad pelvic position. To counter this we use a foam core with completely new contours and a unique fabric, developed with great care and at no little expense.

    The Facts:

    • Progressive two-layer construction with a soft upper layer and a firm core ensures even distribution of weight
    • Distinctive seat depression center of the seat
    • Relief of the coccyx
    • Improved passenger contour for a better grip forward
    • Uncompromising long-distance suitability
    • Sweat-resistant, non-slip cover material combined with Alcantara seams.
    Technical specifications:
    • High-strength RoburC seat pan from its own mold design
    • Bonded and taped seams for 100% Waterproof on modern PFAFF hot air welding machines
    Additional Info:
    • Design by Nicolas Petit (Paris)
    • Made in Germany

    Too Stiff
The seat height is awesome. It is right where I was hoping it would be. I am 6'4" and about 220lbs. That being said the seat is much firmer than I thought it would be. After numerous rides hoping the seat would soften up, it is still very stiff. I like the height, but I would not call it a "comfort" seat.

I previously had a BMW OEM low seat. I bought the original Wunderlich low seat for my BMW F750GS, and it was ok, but a really loose fit. I could move the front up and down 1/4". I returned it for the new "Aktivcomfort" low seat, in hopes it would fit better, and this seat as well, has a front latch peg that is too long for the length of the front bumpers. I did like the look of the seat, and it is definitely more comfortable, so I amended the bike. I have 29" legs, and did not want the seat any higher, so did not lengthen the rubber bumpers. Instead... I got some 1/8" "shroud covers" from West Marine, and cut a 1" length of it. This was slipped over the SS mount/latch bar on the bike, to lower it a bit, making a satisfactory fit. This design flaw needs to be addressed at the factory, but my retrofit works. Jeff @ Wunderlich America was very helpful with my original return, and helping me confirm that I got the correct seat. This seems like the best aftermarket seat, once this loose fit issue is dealt with. The seat is a little taller (1/4" or so) than the OEM low seat, and I can not quite flat foot the bike with it, but this gets me close to Earth. The comfort for the passenger is WAY better, and both are ergonomically correct. If you are willing to fiddle with it, I recommend the seat.

    Wunderlich Seat for F850GS
I had the Wunderlich seat for my R1200R before and I loved it - much better than the original BMW seat. The seat fits perfectly and looks good - high quality stitching and fabric. Great for long days in the "saddle"
