    Ergo Windscreen

G650 GS from model year 2011

In every detail, this is a windscreen for the demanding rider looking for maximum comfort combined with pleasing aesthetics.

Larger than the original screen in all dimensions, the wind is efficiently directed past rider and passenger. The wide lower section effectively shields the rider's arms from the elements. The shape and angle evenly distribute airflow vertically and horizontally, resulting in optimal wind protection.

A notable detail with this windscreen is that the space between the headlight surround and the screen is precisely defined to allow some airflow, resulting in the reduction of negative pressure behind the screen. This feature drastically reduces or eliminates wind buffeting.

With this windscreen the G650 GS takes on a fresh new look that is only topped by the excellent wind management properties and resulting touring comfort. The screen is securely attached at two points on the side and in the center front, via a sturdy bracket. You will find the design, fit and finish to be truly impressive.

    Approximate Dimensions:
40 cm (15") wide at the top and bottom
30cm (12") wide in the center
36cm (14") tall from the top of the main (lower) headlight.
Available in clear or tinted 4mm thick Lexan with polished, rounded edges.

    Great Windscreen
Mounted on the 2012 G650GS. Nearly eliminated all the wind on the torso, arms and face. I get more stability at high speeds as the wind isn\'t hammering my forearms anymore. I wear an Enduro helmet with a large visor.. I can turn my head without the worry of whiplash from the wind getting caught under the sun visor. A slight buffeting on the helmet but not bad at all. The screen has adjustable angles.. I tweaked it to my liking. I\'m 5\'5\", 28\" inseam, regular stock seat. Very happy with this windscreen. If it was 1\" taller it would be perfect. Riding at higher speeds is so much nicer now.

    Somewhat dissapointed
I've been looking for a shield to get the wind above my helmet and bought this with high hopes. I was nervous that Wunderlich wasn't offering a tall shield for this generation of bike but pulled the trigger anyway due to feedback from Wunderlich on this design, the angle adjustability, and the lack of too many other options. The install was easy, even though some of the images/descriptions in the instructions did not match the actual parts. Specifically, a couple bolts listed as having a 3mm hex drive were actually 4mm and the right hand side bracket was not shaped as shown in the image. I was also missing two washers in my install kit. No big deal, but worth noting. The shield is significantly larger than the original but even in the most vertical position I think the airflow is not moved upward as much as I'd expect. I'm 6' tall and ride with the tall seat. The rather turbulent wind off of the top of this shield hits me just at eye level. I was hoping to be able to ride comfortably with my visor open, but that's a no go. I had bad helmet buffeting with the stock shield and was hoping that would be remedied with this shield. The buffeting isn't as bad with this shield but the air off this windshield is,as mentioned, turbulent and still tosses my head around more than I would like. I will state that if you ride with the short seat and are <6' tall, this will probably work great for you. I know Wunderlich will advise that I can buy their wind deflector to get those couple extra inches I'm looking for but I don't have the budget or interest in spending another $130 on top of the $199 I just spent to accomplish what I feel my first investment should have. I'll likely be selling this shield when a taller/better version becomes available.
