    Perfect fit and more comfortable
    (North Carolina) | July 20th, 2023
After installing my foot peg lowering kit, I decided to install the handlebar risers kit. The video on Wunderlich website is awesome. I watched it twice before starting the install. I started with all the requisite tools named in the video before I started and put on a wire wheel on my buffer to remove paint from the handlebars where directed. I was very careful, and followed the video step by single step. Paying particularly close attention to the wires and switches. It took me exactly 3 hours and 30 minutes of that time was adjusting the bars and controls to my liking...I love the improvement! Only thing I was disappointed in was the amount of paint I removed from the handlebars. I did not take off all of the paint per instructions from video. But I took off about 1/16" too much paint so I had to touch it up or grind the bar shorter by the same amount. I just touched it up on the one bar. My advice is to put a piece of tape on the bar where you want to STOP removing paint. It's about 3/8" of an inch...go 1/2" if you want to play it safe. The quality of the parts is 100% outstanding with tight tolerances. My cables were all good after the install too. It was much easier than I thought it would be. Nice adjustability too. When torquing the bolts properly, I had to have someone else hold onto the bar and switches so they wouldn't move while putting the torque wrench to it. Without someone holding it, everything would twist about 1/4" when applying the torque wrench. I highly recommend these to anyone remotely interested in adjustability and comfort. Can you find some cheaper....? Maybe, but you will get what you pay for.

    Awesome!

I was a little worried about doing the work myself, even though I had gone through MMI training for H-D. But I just played the video through each step and got the job done, only having to run to the store once to get a long T8 Torx driver :-) I haven’t gone on a very long ride yet, but I so wish I did this before I went on a 3,500 mile ride just weeks ago. They put your hands in such a more comfortable position and helps with handling, making for a more confident ride. Not sure what these MC companies are thinking making touring bikes with a sport riding position, but thank God for this company making such a product.

    Great added comfort

Installation is pretty straightforward, but I did incidentally damage the wiring in my left control. This cost me about $700 for a replacement. I took my time, but still pinched the ribbon inside the controller at some point which made part of the controls ineffective. The only other suggestion would be to make sure you slacken the wiring so you can make a full left and right lock turn. Once they were on, I took a 300 mi ride and have to say it seems a little odd at first (I also ride an RTP daily) if you're used to the previous posture, but they are a game changer for me. These coupled with the peg lowering kit have made this a new bike. I highly recommend them.

    Wunderlich HandleBar Risers Work Wonderfully
    | October 11th, 2022
These handlebar risers facilitate raising the handlebars and tilting the handlebar back towards me for a custom fit to me. I now ride my BMW 1250 RT much more comfortably. The work was done by Ryan of BMW Motorcycles, North Dallas facility, and he did a great job customizing the fitment to my needs.

    Great hardware, incomplete instructions
    | July 5th, 2019
I installed this kit on my 2018 R1200RT. Works very well, however the install instructions are not exactly for my bike. Couple important points. When pulling the handlebar rubes with the included tool from the OEM BMW risers, there are two screws to use. One to get the process started, another to finish it (Half way they should be switched out), otherwise you will strip the threads on you handlebar tubes. The second important item is that the electrical connectors (and there are multiple) on my bike had little clips. Just simply pulling them like in the instructions state, will result in ripped cables (very thin wires, probably for heated grips). These tabs must be lifted before pulling. We spent about 2 hours on install, including the fitting. Also note that the right side break fluid reservoir will limit the angle of install tilting towards the rider. This is not a significant problem but should be noted before finalizing the tilt angle of the risers. I love the risers, 5 stars. Install instructions 2 stars. Wunderlich should really review their schematics.
Works well on my 2017 R1200RT

I just has these installed on my RT, and Like the result. I spoke with 2 dealers, and decided to have these installed instead doing it myself. Glad I did, even though it cost 1.5 hrs of labor. They had me sit on the bike before the final tightening. I had the riser "cams" titled slightly toward me to move the bars slightly closer, while providing most of the potential bar rise. I did this to allow my arms to be more horizontal to the ground, and to ride more upright, to help relieve upper back/shoulder soreness on longer rides. Minor issue: The riser color is close, but not perfect match the handle bar color. Most would not notice this.
