    Side Stand Enlarger

Your R1200 GS can really benefit from the addition of this side stand plate because asphalt or soft ground can cause an unstable situation when parking on the side stand, especially when the bike is heavily laden. This Wunderlich part improves the situation by increasing the surface area of your side stand foot. It is designed to fit the shape of the original side stand perfectly and it's easy to install and that makes this accessory a sensible improvement for your BMW. When installing, apply a drop or two of Loctite or similar thread locking fluid to the retaining screws to ensure that they do not loosen and fall out. (available under the Related Products)

Note: Please see the Related Products for the optional Spike Set. The spikes not only offer additional grip with the ground, they also add some height which can reduce the amount of lean angle.

    • This side stand plate fits 2005 models only
    • If your bike is a 2008 or later model, order part number 8500137 (found in Related Products)

Item was received well packaged and with fast delivery. Installation was easy. The enlarged footprint looks great and I will order again if I get another bike. Thanks

    Sleek-looking footpad
I ordered this a month ago after my experiences with Alaska mud and gravel on my R1200GS - needed a more stable foothold for a fully loaded bike. The install was a breeze (didn't have Lactate blue, so I used Superglue Gel on the threads, hope it holds) and the pad looks great on the triple-black bike. It doesn't interfere with standing on the pegs (I thought it might) and it deploys nicely thanks to the serrated edges. Haven't yet used it on soft stuff, but on pavement I feel it won't leave divers in my driveway this summer anymore.

    Water cooled GS
If you are riding a water cooled GS call Wunderlich for the correct part's different. Easy to install and after riding Highway 666 (now 191) in Arizona no scrapes. Try it! I dare you! Ninety miles of twistys.

    Bigger side stand plate
My 2009 R1200GSA needed a bigger side stand plate. I bought this Wunderlich plate and it's great. Looks good, fits perfect. I tried it in the mud on the side of the road. Stable! thanks.

    Sent Wrong Product
I was sent the wrong product for my motorcycle. The motorcycle type and the part were made clear at the time I ordered the part over the phone. The part was for another motorcycle. Had to pay again for product and wait for it to be delivered to apply for a refund for the original error. No priority given to reshipping due to customer service error. This could have been handled much better.

Great part, don't leave the pavement without it
Great part - mounted in a flash, doesn't foul anything or rattle, works really well in soft ground. A must-have, even if you don't off-road your GS (I don't).

    Nice and Easy.
A breeze to put on, and feels like it won't come off ever. Tipping over in a sandy parking lot is less likely. Could have more teeth for boot traction though.

    Side stand Foot
This is standard kit on my GS and GSA. The serrations make the side stand very easy to deploy, quickly, in technical terrain. The foot is large enough to support the bike in soft conditions. Make sure to use Locktite on the keepers.

Turn your stock kick stand into a MEGA Kink Stand!
Just finished a 3,200 mile ride from Seattle, WA to Anchorage, Alaska. Finally I found an enlarger for my low suspension kick stand! This new pad is so much larger and fits perfect. Use lots of lock tight on the screws. Really worked fantastic on all the dirt, gravel, and sand in Alaska and Canada.

    No brainer
Another great product. I never write reviews but the items for sale from Wunderlich make me wanna type a thank you review. Carrying a crushed can was getting old and this one is just big enough to do the trick. The soft rubber washer is a nice touch and will keep things properly snug on the stand.

    A dandy gismo
This enlarger fit perfectly. It was a snap to install and it is a lot easier to flick the stand down with your boot, thanks to the thoughtfull serations on the edge.

    Nice look, great design
This is probably one of the most expensive foot enlargers around, but it looks great and functions as it should. It also tucks out of the way nicely so no interference while riding.

Easy to install, works great, and looks pretty cool in black.

Side Stand Enlarger for 2011 Adventurer
Easy to install and keeps my bike upright even in the Vermont mud! Just what I was looking for.

    Nice Product
Quick delivery, and installed on my new 1200 GSA before a 5 day adventure trip to Northern Arizona. Install is simple, and the enlarger did its job in AZ's dirt. The shape of the enlarger keeps it from interfering with the center stand.

I put one of these on my R1100S, and just added one to my new GS. Definately reduces that sinking feeling you can get on soft (hot) pavement in summer. On my R1100S I did scrape some of it off while carving my way through Gifford Pinchot Forest, south of Randle, WA (going past Mt. St. Helens). If you've been there you know why. I don't think that's going to be possible on the GS (it's tucked up pretty high).
