    Description

    Active Comfort Ergo Seat Standard

The new generation of ERGO Seats: Well-thought through at every step of the design, with many innovative solutions.

The original seat suffers from an unfavorable form which places undue strain on the tailbone, and the angle of the seat leads many riders to adopt a bad pelvic position. To counter this we use a foam core with completely new contours and a unique fabric, developed with great care with no expense spared.

    The facts:

    • Distinctly shaped (concaved) seating area.
    • Relief of pressure on the tail bone and optimized weight distribution across the whole seat.
    • Improved pillion contours for improved forward hold.
    • Progressive double-layer construction with soft upper layer and rigid core for even distribution of forces.
    • Uncompromising durability for long distance use.
    • Non-slip, anti-perspiration material combined with "Alcantara" suede seams.
    • Strong "RoburC" seat pan of our own construction.
    • Classy recessed "cut" seams.
    • Seams glued and heat-sealed on modern PFAFF hot-air welding machines for 100% impermeability.
    • Design by Nicolas Petit (Paris).
    • Made in Germany.

The standard height version is about the same height as the standard seat however because the foam is more dense and harder than the stock seat, you will effectively sit slightly higher.

Please Note: The Original BMW seat cowl is not compatible with these seats!

Best single mod yet on bike
Of all the mods I've done to my bike, and I've done everything - lithium battery, Michelins, HID lighting, power commander, dyno tuned, Ohlins shock, full Akrapovic titanium racing exhaust, tank grips, this seat has made the biggest improvement to the performance of the bike. With the stock seat, due to the downward slope that ends right at the tank, under braking and decel, you're constantly thrust towards back towards the tank away from where your legs can grip. This seat has a nice, long flat section where you can get 'locked in' really nicely. Under braking my butt now stays put, and I can stay loose on the grips. It's like the description says - you're sitting 'in' the bike. And it's not too firm at all - it's perfect. I wish the back end of the seat was tapered like the back of my F800ST is - it would look better. And the fabric of the seat is great too. It seems to adhere better with both leather and textile pants. This should be the first mod you make to the bike, in my opinion. And bear in mind, my style of riding is 'street aggressive'.

    F800st ergo seat
Seat fits awesome. Looks great. It is a little uncomfortable but I\'m sure I need to break it in and get used to it.

Like all good things, It needs a little breaking in.
As another reviewer put it, it\'s a firm seat. It\'s not soft. If you\'re used to the stock seat on the bike, this will initially feel like a 2x8 plank on your bum. Now I was going to initially return it, but I stuck with it and as I rode it more and more a transformation was happening. I began to like it more and more! I\'ve since done 400+ mile days on it and no problem. My bum is not hurting and I\'m feeling good. I would have no problems going further, but the opportunity has not presented itself yet. In summary, this seat needs a bit of time to get used to. Both you the rider and the seat itself. Once that happens, I think you\'ll be BFF\'s (Best Friends Forever For those of you without kids)

Beautifully Made - Did not Fit my Body
The ERGO Seat for my BMW F800ST - Seat arrived in just a few days. Initial impressions - very well made; fit the bike perfectly; looked great installed. First ride - painful. I could not stay on the bike more than about 20 minutes at a stretch. For me it was not as good as the factory seat. Tried it over the course of about ten days, but my body could not adjust. Wunderlich had absolutely no problem with the return, and I received a full refund minus shipping. With respect to other BMW products, I would definitely buy from Wunderlich again.
