    Ergo Standard Seat, Active Comfort

The new generation of ERGO Seats: Well-thought through at every step of the design, with many innovative solutions.

The original seat suffers from an unfavorable form which places undue strain on the tailbone, and the angle of the seat leads many riders to adopt a bad pelvic position. To counter this we use a foam core with completely new contours and a unique fabric, developed with great care and at no little expense.

    The facts:

    • Distinctly shaped (concave) seating area.
    • Relief of pressure on the tail bone and optimized weight distribution across the whole seat.
    • Improved pillion contours for improved forward hold.
    • Progressive double-layer construction with soft upper layer and rigid core for even distribution of forces.
    • Uncompromising durability for long distance use.
    • Non-slip, anti-perspiration material combined with Alcantara suede seams.
    • Strong RoburC seat pan of our own construction.
    • Classy recessed cut seams.
    • Seams glued and heat-sealed on modern PFAFF hot-air welding machines for 100% impermeability.
    • Design by Nicolas Petit (Paris).
    • Made in Germany.

    Better than stock but...
I have the standard size seat. It is much better than stock, but 200 miles on this is still no picnic. Trying an Airhawk starting today. I too wonder about placement of the seams, espcially that one around the rear. Should just not be there at all.

    8 hour rides
I have a 2015 R1200GS and have put 20k on with the ERGO seat also had a 2013 R1200GS and put 30K on it with the ERGO seat. I find in much better then the OEM seat and would recommend it to long day riders.

    Not good enough
I have a 2014 GSW and I got the standard height seat. The Ergo seat is better than the OEM seat and but still not that good for me. I am still looking for a better seat. The foam is extremely hard, has very little give, and the shape is not good enough to compensate for this. After about two hours on the saddle, the seam cut into my thighs. Speaking of seam, I feel the seam at the rear, near the passenger seat. And I feel the seam at my thighs. Not good. Why are there seams there? The OEM seat gave me a pain in my tailbone and the ERGO seats does not, as advertised. But still, it is not comfortable for longer than two hours.
