    GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!! EASY INSTALL!!!!!
I have to first say that anyone with any mechanical abilities can install the uppers, lowers and rear protection bars in about 4-6 hours. I took 6 with breaks and lunch break. I did not have the right size Torx set so I ended up going to the local auto parts store and got a complete set for $29 which is part of the 6 hours. Rear bars - I had absolutely no problems installing the rear protection bars. I installed them in about 25 minutes. Lower Engine bars - The biggest part of the job was removing the lower and upper side fairing panels for access which by the way was easy peezy! My big suggestion here is to make sure you leave them lose until you get the upper protection bars installed loosely so you can tighten and torque the upper and lower bars together. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP ALL THE HARDWARE IN THE HOLES OF WHERE THEY GO ON PANELS YOU REMOVE! It will just make for a quicker re-install when putting the bike back together. Upper Protection bars - Where do I start....You have to remove the upper BMW panel and Lower panel to gain access to install the attachment bars. Then you have to remove the fasteners that are used for the attachment points of the upper bar attachment bracket. RIGHT SIDE: First thing you do is to reinstall the lower panel and fan shroud because the upper bar attachment bracket goes over it on the upper rear edge. I then removed the screws to attach the attachment bar bracket which was super easy BUT BE CAREFUL when you are attaching this piece so as not to drop any hardware. What I found easy was to thread the forward bolt in first since it had a spacer as part of the build up and you don't want it bouncing around and getting lost. NOTE TO SELF!! MAKE SURE YOU REINSTALL THE GROUND STRAP BEHIND THE SPACER!! You don't want to leave off a ground strap on a bike! Then I installed the aft bolt but remember to use the big black washer you removed that was already installed on the bike which goes between the bushing and attachment bracket point. It makes a big difference when tightening the attachment brackets because the lower attach point of the upper protection bar will move around and be hard to install later. One good idea here is to loosely install the attachment brackets and upper bar to the lower engine bar before you tighten and torque everything. To do this requires you to leave the upper decorative panel off so you can make sure it all lines up nicely. Me personally I kind of played with it and I tightened the upper attachment bar bracket and then I test fitted my upper decorative panel to make sure it would go on properly with no pre-load. Then once I made sure my bracket was located properly I attached the upper panel and then installed the upper protection bar locating the two upper screws first and then installed the lower part of the upper bar. KEEP IN MIND! - Make sure all attach points are located and loosely installed before torquing. THis may seem like a lot but once you get the learning curve down you are off and running for the left side or which ever side you end up doing last. One last suggestion do a count of fasteners and MAKE SURE you don't have any left over fasteners other than the ones you are replacing with the kit! Was it easy?....In my opinion it was very easy because I have a lot of mechanical back ground and I get it. Will it be easy for everyone? No because some people should just leave these kinds of things to the pro's or their dealers to install. I don't speak German and "Yes" the instructions could be better but I would suggest this set of protection bars again and again because of ease of installation and they LOOK HOT on my new '17 R1200RT! Thanks Wunderlich for a great looking and easy to install product!!!!

    IMPOSSIBLE INSTALLATION
I wish I had heeded the warning(s) from the previous reviewer. The instructions are useless. They do not address the installation process for the 2014-15 LC. The install drawings do not match the actual provided inner mount brackets, leaving you to fend for yourselves as to the proper mounting points deep under the fuel tank. The right hand side bracket mounted with minimal effort. The main exterior protection bar, however, required considerable bend pressure to attach at the mount point (shown in photos elsewhere) to the lower Wunderlich engine protect bars. The inner mount bracket is where the real problems began. Again, the instructions do not address the removal of the storage compartment, the speaker and the SRS button panel. This is easy to do, but you've gotta figure this out because of the deficient instructions. Next comes the "penetration" of the long horizontal tab that must be forced into the cavity to meet it's proposed destination. The is problemmatic as the outer portion of the assembly runs directly into the fuel cell lobe. You must force the bracket up and over the lobe without damaging the paint on your middle body panel. This is where the instructions DON'T tell you to remove the panel for safety. If successful here, you must then force the bracket aft to line up the mount point. While applying this considerable rearward force with your left hand, you must then add a spacer bushing under the tab about 6" under the tank, all while aligning the holes to apply the M8 bolt! I used a heavily greased screwdriver to perch the spacer upon and hold it in place to insert the bolt. The approach proved successful. That's when the real problems arose. The front mount point on the motorcycle would not line up with the front bracket tab. It was off by about 1/16"+. I tried for over an hour to cajole the bracket but feared damaging the bike mount point. I also noticed at this point that even if I could've gotten the points to line up. this would have resulted in many other fitment issues upon reassembly of the SRS panel and moreover, the bike's body panels. Overall, this is a Krauser manufacturing problem. Wunderlich support has informed me that "many" of these systems have been deployed successfully. Maybe my outer bracket was damaged previously? Built on a Monday? Whatever the reasons, I will never attempt this process again as a protest against a company that refuses to create a better product with updated installation instructions. To Wunderlich's credit, I received excellent customer service and returned the product with a full refund and apologies.

Fairing Protection Bars for 2015 R1200RT Buyer Warning!!
I ordered a set of these bars through my local BMW dealer in Scottsdale, AZ; Go AZ and I am grateful that I did! The bars did not even come close to fitting & attaching to the Wunderlich Engine Protection Bars or the attachment bar adapter, on either side! On the Right side, the rear attachment point to the attachment bar adapter for the bar's rear mounting point is so close that if you did get them attached and the bike was to fall over or something more drastic, the bolt or the weld nut would hit the plastic and probably crack the expensive that the Fairing Bars are supposed to protect! Read the Instructions carefully: what little there are!!! The Instructions don't really tell you how to install the bars! They are very vague and do not tell you steps to take to install! The Left side requires that you remove the SRS control panel, the little storage compartment and Speaker Facia to fit the attachment bar adapter, which doesn't really fit anyway! The Instructions that come with the bars, say some adjustments may be needed. But if you try to bend the attachment bar adapters to make them fit, you won't be able to return the Fairing Bars! Also, if you try to bend or modify the attachment bar adapters, you will probably make the fitting worse, unless you are a Blacksmith or professional metal fitter! I did not modify the setup and was able to return them thanks to a GREAT BMW Dealer: GO AZ!! Buyer Beware!!!!!
