BMW aims to underscore the lightness of the K with the breezy rear framework. The down side: the gap between the side cover and rear footrest bracket means the legs and feet are defenseless against moisture and dirt. The water sloshes up unhindered over the boots as far as the thigh. Massive wetting and soiling of the driver and passenger result. In addition, dirt and water are distributed over the side cover, case and footrest brackets.

Good looking product when done. It makes the bike look complete. BUT…… the instructions are just terrible. Someone needs to redo them. Called Wunderlich but they weren’t much help as they have never installed this kit. Finally got it installed. Some bolts and nuts need to be modified before they will fit. Two small brackets are shown mounted upside down. Should take half an hour to install took me 3 hours. For the price you pay for this kit the instructions should be better.

If you need the instructions to fit the parts then this product isn't for you. If however you can work it out without instructions then beware, for what you get the assembly is expensive. The assemblies will need some fettling once installed to fit correctly and look right. I do personally like the way the bike looks with the parts installed. However I cannot attest to the claimed improved protection from the road elements as I haven't been out in the rain since installation. Hope this helps you?
