Description
Sportego Handle Bar
This handlebar is sporty yet ergonomically correct. The bend of this handlebar has been carefully designed and is considered by many to be simply ideal. The height lies in between the Rockster and the R1150 R handlebar, and so it's an ideal choice for the R1150 R rider who wants a bit lower bar, or a Rockster rider who wishes to have just a slightly more upright position.
This bar is also the ideal choice for the Wunderlich tubular handlebar conversions available for the R1100 R and R1100 S.
The bar is constructed of steel and powder coated silver. The bar is designed to be a direct replacement and is machined and drilled where needed to accept BMW heated grips. Overall length = 75cm (29-1/2") Tested and approved by the strict German TÜV.

Please Note: Other than the R1100 S, the original bar end weights are not compatible with the handlebar. Unless your bike is an R1100S, you'll also need to order a set of Wunderlich bar end weights, available in silver or black. Please see under the Related Products.

I purchased these to replace a set of damaged stock bars on my 2004 R1150R Rockster. They are slightly narrower and sit back about an inch, angled more toward the rear just a bit, providing a a more upright riding position, and comfort, in my opinion. Installation was pretty straight forward, i decided to drill additional holes for the heated grip wires at the inner edge of the controls instead of running the wires out from the very center of the bars(a hole is pre-drilled here). They do not accept some of the original bar end weights, or some aftermarket weights, I had to modify my throttlemeister lock to fit. Be sure to order new bar-end weights for a complete installation. All in all a great product, a few very minor concerns that are easily dealt with and take nothing away from their functionality.
