    Description

    TPS Cover

The throttle sensor on the left is not exactly attractive. It is also at risk because it protrudes so far that even with light impacts (e.g. from your boot) it can be seriously damaged. With this robust and light aluminum cover, the unattractive sensor is out of view, the intake pipe is integrated into one unit and both the sensitive throttle sensor and the connections are well protected. Made of silver anodized aluminum.

Everything needed for installation is included.

Please Note: Not compatible with BMW aluminum valve cover protectors on 2010 and later model R1200 GS and Adventure models. Without the valve cover protectors it will fit and it is compatible with the valve cover protectors on models up to and including 2009.

HP2 Fitment: On the HP2 Enduro and Megamoto, this part must be installed "Upside-Down". Please consider this before ordering.

This bit of "farkle" serves a practical purpose and looks good while doing it. It was easy and quick to install. My friends comment on how good it looks as if it came from the factory this way. I'm well pleased!
    Just got it too late...

I learned the hard way that a TPS cover is something that should come factory-installed. Dropped the bike on a sandy patch at slow speed, thought that not much had happened to it, but somehow managed to kick the TPS, connector broke off, requiring an immediate trip back to the nearest BMW dealer, just about 4 hours drive away from where I was. This sucks. Got the TPS cover right afterwards, installed like a charm in minutes (three screws...), looks and feels good. I hope I'll never have to test it, but wouldn't take my chances anymore, either.

    Good Protection
    (Abu Dhabi, AUH) | January 1st, 2012
I agree this is a good cheap insurance for the bike and part, installed it on my R 1200 GS 2012 model. However, some of the screws were not the right thread, I had to replace them. Other than that, a number of guys went to the off road training course and some lost this part due to lack of protection. My rating is due to the wrongly threaded screw rather than the part itself.
    cheap insurance...

Purchased a used R1200GS recently... as an avid dirt bike rider, I fortify all the weak points on my MX bikes. When I saw that TPS sensor hanging out there off the intake, I had major concerns about a rock or simple tip over taking out that unit and leaving me stranded. While I don't intend to ride hard core off road on my GS, I purchased the TPS Cover as low cost insurance against a possible scenario where it could get damaged. I am adding the Wunderlich oil cooler guard for the same reason.
    Good looking protection

The TPS protector looks good and definitely adds protection, however the fasteners provided were not the best quality (should be 100 percent stainless) which i would have paid 5-7 dollars more for. i will have to look for replacement hardware on my own.

Even though this items is not supposed to be compatible with 2010 1200r due to fact it has head covers I made it fit by cutting back the top point a bit and bending over the side tip which would hit the head cover. I did have to drill the lower third hole larger as the bolt didn't fit the hole
