BrakeFix

Great for those times you need an extra hand to secure the front brakes. Can come in handy if bike is ever dropped on an incline.

I bought several of these clever BrakeFix devices recently. It is an adjustable clamp that can be used by motorcyclists to squeeze to front brake lever to keep the front brake ON. This device has a simple ratchet function - the rider loosely attaches the clamp between the right handlebar grip and the front brake lever, then he squeezes the brake lever, then while squeezed, the BrakeFix is easily adjusted to maintain any given brake lever position and pressure by a clever temporary locking mechanism. This lock mechanism can be readily defeated by the rider with his right hand while he still controls the brake lever. Why is tool is useful : KTM and other motorcycle manufactures recommend "locking the front brake" as part of re-installing the front wheel (tire change, etc.). So the moto mechanic can squeeze the brake lever, and easily adjust the BrakeFix device to hold the lever, thus keeping the front brake on while the caliper positions (bolts) are fine tuned to perfectly space the caliper to the brake disk. Another excellent usage case is of the rider has dropped his bike. Lifting the bike back upright is made much easier if the front wheel cannot rotate! Use the BrakeFix to lock the front brake lever before trying to lift the bike upright.
