Wunderlich HQ Sinzig Germany

For over 35 years, Wunderlich has produced high-quality accessories for BMW motorcycles. Today, the development department creates individually tailored accessories to convert a standard BMW to your fully customized bike. Wunderlich components make riding more comfortable, ergonomic, and safer. Almost 4000 part numbers make up Wunderlich for both the latest and earlier models.

Wunderlich's success story began as a classic garage career. In 1985, Erich Wunderlich worked in his parents' garage on his Yamaha single-cylinders XT and SR. His first modifications quickly found many interested customers. The original Wunderlich catalog consisted of eight pages and included innovative direct lubrication of the overhead camshaft and other exciting inventions. Two years later, the garage was too small, and he moved to a warehouse next to a railway station in Ahrweiler, Rhineland Palatinate. Various additions to the catalog included products for suspension optimization as well as extensive performance enhancements. The enterprise quickly grew for Erich and began hiring employees to assist in the venture.

The young company moved again and focused entirely on BMW. In 1991, the Wunderlich stand at the IFMA in Cologne attracted numerous visitors, and the firmly refined BMW R 100 GS was a real highlight. A 67-page catalog, including more than 200 accessory parts for the Bavarian brand, was published one year later.

Just four years later, the circulation of Wunderlich's BMW accessory catalogs had increased to more than 20,000 copies annually. Wunderlich's staff consisted of 12 employees and counted hundreds of customers. The company developed new ERGO seats and screens, published new catalogs annually, and, in 1998, had great success at the INTERMOT in Munich. The year 2000was an important milestone in company history. As one of the first enterprises in the two-wheeled sector, Wunderlich was certified under standard DIN/ISO 9001 and could apply for TÜV-reports. One year later, certification was expanded to DIN/EN/ISO 9001: 2000 (German Federal Motor Transport Authority compliant). With this, Wunderlich was the absolute fore runner in the motorcycle industry.

Of course, Wunderlich doesn't just rely on its development engineers' theories. Before one product finds its way into the catalog and to the customer, its quality and durability are tested and assessed under extreme conditions. Wunderlich obtains essential information relating to the strength of materials and ideas for future product developments, not only through participation in competitions such as the "BMW Power Cup," the "Heroes Legend," the "Agadir Rally," "Pikes Peak International Hill Climb" three times, and the "Qatar Rally" as well as the legendary Erzbergrodeo in Austria but also by tours to the African desert or the cold and icy Arctic circle. So far, more than 600,000 kilometers of eventful driving have led Wunderlich test riders right through Europe to Russia, Siberia, Africa, South America, the USA, Asia, and the Middle East - almost 13 times the earth's circumference! Products from Wunderlich's technical and cooperative partners must prove themselves just as thoroughly. In addition, most Wunderlich employees are dedicated motorcyclists themselves and introduce new ideas and test many Wunderlich accessory parts in their everyday life.

For well over a decade, a complete overview of Wunderlich products with more than 4,000 accessories has been available on the Wunderlich website. With more than 3 million clicks a year, the Wunderlich site is one of the most visited sites in its sector. It's filled with numerous tips and tricks, exciting offers, and thrilling stories about Wunderlich activities.
