Description
Extreme Inner Fender/Chain Guard
Effective splash protection with an enlarged, integrated chain guard.
With this part installed, the rear shock is effectively protected from water, dirt or road debris. Additionally, the amount of water splashed onto the passenger's legs is greatly reduced. Overall, water spray is controlled and the swingarm, tail section and luggage all benefit from the added protection.
The part is made of ABS plastic and it incorporates an improved chain guard as compared to the original.

The fit of this product is absolutely perfect, using the original chain guard mounting points on the right side and a well designed bracket (with foam to protect the paint on the swing arm!) on the left side. Close fit to the tire, but should really keep the spray down when riding in the rain or on wet roads. Looks really good to, as if it has always been there.

While I was able to get this part to eventually mount to my 2013 G650GS, it took me nearly an hour to figure out how to make it work. Unfortunately, the front brace that holds the guard to the swing arm was not deep enough to meet the back plate of the device. Not only that but apparently BMW changed the location of the guide for the rear cables so that it was exactly where the guard's brace needed to be. I was able to finally get it to work but I had to substitute the bolts for longer ones and even when finally installed, it pulls the guard about a hair's width to the chain. If I hadn't had such an awful time putting it on and scraping it up, I would have returned it. Caveat emptor for you 2013 owners.

Perfect fit to the original points of mounting. The space between fender and standard tyre is very just. No off road tyres will fit after mounting.
