Wunderlich Center Stand
The center stand is the most important option of a motorcycle, but unfortunately it is no longer part of the standard equipment.
Since only a middle or center stand ensures a secure footing, we have designed our center stand for retrofitting stable and user-friendly.
Indispensable for maintenance work (lubrication chain, oil change, oil level control), care and above all also for relaxed loading of the machine.
Simple installation, delivery includes all mounting hardware.

Center Stand - For some reason, BMW never equipped the G310 series with a center stand, but the necessary brackets are in place on the GS bikes. Instead, for reasons known only to engineers in Berlin, they chose to use just a kick stand, angled in a way that keeps the bike very near vertical, a far cry from the early R1000 GS bikes' comfortable lean.
A stiff breeze, or an overly ambitious mosquito, could very easily cause the bike to topple over, even if the handlebars are turned to the same side as the kickstand. You do turn your bars to the same side as the stand when parking, right?
Lower the bike's suspension, as many do with the 310 GS, and this lean angle is even more acute, necessitating the use of an adjustable aftermarket kickstand or cutting and shortening the OEM one.
Solution - Fortunately, Wunderlich to the rescue again, in the form of a very nicely designed and heavy (and I mean heavy) center stand. Installation, other than wrestling the dual springs into place, is a breeze, and the quality is the same or better than the BMW OEM. I'm a big fan of center stands; they are generally more secure than just a side stand and work great for servicing as well.
That's about it; the Wunderlich bar risers and the center stand make the little 310 look and feel much more like its big brother, the GS.
I'm not usually a fan of aftermarket parts, but in my experience, the Wunderlich kit is of the same quality (or in the case of the center stand, better) as the OEM parts, and it fills a void that makes the bikes more practical and enjoyable.
Ride safe.
Cheers,
Bruce

Great quality product- tight fitting with very secure bolts. Attaching springs has proven challenging for me with spring puller. Hopefully a spring expansion tool (sold independently) will do the trick.

Just finished a comprehensive and very positive review - then accidentally deleted it. So, in brief: this center stand kit is superbly well thought out, and is made from much heavier, more robust materials than other non-OEM center stands I’ve bought and installed on other bikes in the past. As another reviewer also mentioned, I was not able to remove the chain roller idler bolt without tapping with a punch. I also had to file down a slight anomaly on the bolt in order to thread it into the spring hanger. Once done, I re-tightened the bolt, only to find the idler tight. It turned, but with excessive resistance. So, I loosened it again; firmly torqued the two other larger mounting bolts and nuts, and then, lastly, returned to the chain roller idler to snug it down. This did the trick. Otherwise, all went perfectly, without any issues related to bushings or other hardware. The stand functions beautifully, and is smooth and quiet throughout its range of motion. Very happy with this useful, extremely well-done CS kit!
