    Description

    Side Stand Enlarger

Your R1200 GS can really benefit from the addition of this side stand plate because asphalt or soft ground can cause an unstable situation when parking on the side stand, especially when the bike is heavily laden. This Wunderlich part improves the situation by increasing the surface area of your side stand foot. It is designed to fit the shape of the original side stand perfectly and it's easy to install and that makes this accessory a sensible improvement for your BMW. This side stand plate fits standard height: 2006-2012 R1200 GS models and 2005-2013 R1200 GS Adventure models. When installing, apply a drop or two of Loctite or similar thread locking fluid to the retaining screws to ensure that they do not loosen and fall out. (available under the Related Products)

Additional insurance for the GS: fully loaded or on loose ground, a GS supported on the side stand can easily get bogged down. A precisely machined extension plate that can quickly be bolted to the side stand eliminates this risk.

    Details:

    • Not suitable for vehicles with lower suspension!
    • Safe support for the machine on all surfaces
    • Surface area increased by more than 100%
    • 8 mm (0.31”)- thick Dural aluminum
    • Rustproof anodized black
    • Rust protection for the original stand plate
    • Cut-out for original foot lined with vibration-absorbing foam rubber
    • CNC machined
    • Easy to fit

Note: Please see the Related Products for the optional Spike Set. The spikes not only offer additional grip with the ground, they also add some height which can reduce the amount of lean angle.

    Sleek-looking footpad
    (Toronto, ON) | June 5th, 2015
I ordered this a month ago after my experiences with Alaska mud and gravel on my R1200GS - needed a more stable foothold for a fully loaded bike. The install was a breeze (didn't have Lactate blue, so I used Superglue Gel on the threads, hope it holds) and the pad looks great on the triple-black bike. It doesn't interfere with standing on the pegs (I thought it might) and it deploys nicely thanks to the serrated edges. Haven't yet used it on soft stuff, but on pavement I feel it won't leave divers in my driveway this summer anymore.
    Water cooled GS

If you are riding a water cooled GS call Wunderlich for the correct part number...it's different. Easy to install and after riding Highway 666 (now 191) in Arizona no scrapes. Try it! I dare you! Ninety miles of twistys.
    Bigger side stand plate
    (Colorado Springs, CO) | May 17th, 2015
My 2009 R1200GSA needed a bigger side stand plate. I bought this Wunderlich plate and it's great. Looks good, fits perfect. I tried it in the mud on the side of the road. Stable! thanks.

Great part, don't leave the pavement without it
    (Santa Cruz, CA) | December 9th, 2013
Great part - mounted in a flash, doesn't foul anything or rattle, works really well in soft ground. A must-have, even if you don't off-road your GS (I don't).
    Side stand Foot
    (Woodstock, Vt) | September 7th, 2012
This is standard kit on my GS and GSA. The serrations make the side stand very easy to deploy, quickly, in technical terrain. The foot is large enough to support the bike in soft conditions. Make sure to use Locktite on the keepers.
    A dandy gismo

This enlarger fit perfectly. It was a snap to install and it is a lot easier to flick the stand down with your boot, thanks to the thoughtfull serations on the edge.
    Nice look, great design
    (New York, NY) | January 19th, 2012
This is probably one of the most expensive foot enlargers around, but it looks great and functions as it should. It also tucks out of the way nicely so no interference while riding.
    Perfect!

Easy to install, works great, and looks pretty cool in black.
Side Stand Enlarger for 2011 Adventurer
    (Westford, Vt) | October 24th, 2011
Easy to install and keeps my bike upright even in the Vermont mud! Just what I was looking for.
    Nice Product
    (Gilbert, AZ) | April 29th, 2011
Quick delivery, and installed on my new 1200 GSA before a 5 day adventure trip to Northern Arizona. Install is simple, and the enlarger did its job in AZ's dirt. The shape of the enlarger keeps it from interfering with the center stand.
