    Trophy Fairing - Unpainted

    Unpainted version

The fairing is made of lightweight but strong ABS silver colored plastic material. The plastic is coated with a high gloss layer that gives the panels a paint like quality.

*Installation estimated at 80 minutes for this part may vary depending on skill level.

    Nice Fairing
Finally got my fairing painted and installed and took my first ride. I bought the touring screen which honestly does not extend much higher than the factory windshield however, it dramatically improves the airflow over most of my upper body and helmet. For reference, I am 5’10”. The airflow hits me right across the upper part of my shoulders but around my helmet it is smooth and quiet. The install, with a couple exceptions is pretty straightforward and includes All required hardware. As other reviewers have stated, the biggest PITA is accessing the tie wraps that need to be cut in order to extend the turn signal wires. The irony is that the turn signals don’t need to be extended to clear the edge of the fairing. It is strictly a mater of how Wunderlich designed the mounting hardware. That being said, the mounting is very solid and stable. The photos and instructions are not too bad but could benefit from including a hardware list and illustrations of bolt and washer sizes. All those pieces are lumped into one bag. Definitely separate everything out and do a mock layup ahead of time. As Wunderlich no longer offers the option to paint the fairing, you’ll either have to do it yourself or find a good shop. Turns out the paint code found on the bike is no longer in the BMW computers. You can buy paint from ColorRite using the code on the bike under the seat. I had the local BMW auto dealership’s collision center do the painting because it was convenient but, as expected, it was ridiculously expensive and the job was just, ok. I don’t think they care as much about a $500 fairing as they do an $85,000 sport sedan. Once installed, the fairing and windshield look fantastic and again, as others have said, really completes the look of the bike and functions as intended.

    BMW Trophy Fairing
Just finished installing a Trophy Fairing on my 2013 R1200R Classic. Looks great and quality of the product is superb. I received my kit in just a few days from the initial order. Took me 3 to 4 hours over a couple days. Instructions as everyone has pointed out is extremely weak and leaves much to interpretation. Luckily the are others who have installed these fairings and lend their own pictures. This is a finishing touch to my bike and it really makes it look sporty in a retroactive way. I gave this product 4 stars due to the poor instructions.

Short screed give smooth clean cooling wind
I deducted one start for the high price, but the quality, fit, look and function get all 5 stars. Alpine white is perfect color match to factory paint. This piece fits rock-solidly, perfect fit. With the short screen I get smooth clean wind from shoulders up (5'9", 32" inseam, standard height Sargent seat). I still wear ear plugs, but I wouldn't trade this bike for my old RT. Perfect accessory for naked(ish) riding. Long hours at highways speeds can be punishing (75+ MPH), but that's the price you pay for being in the wind and feeling alive. By the way, the clear tubing goes over the top of the wind screen, not the sides of the fairing. It's supposed to defuse wind coming over the screen. Not sure if it works, but I'm using it. Install instructions are weak, but if you're cleaver and decent with a wrench you can figure it all out from the pictures they provide. Next step for me is to test the taller touring screen for winter riding.

    Terrible instructions
It's taken me over five-hours and I'm still not done. I cannot get the shield on the fairing...must take it all off, again. Does it look good, yes. Is it what I expected after, 7-months of waiting for it to arrive, No. Poor fit, finish and instructions...there must be an easier way to design this and assemble.

    OK but a bit disappointed
The small outer white lines are thicker than on my R 1200 R Classic. I would have thought a detail like that was an obvious must to get right. The fit was not so good. Had to muscle it on a bit. The instructions are clearly aimed at a mechanic in a Garage and could use a lot more visual photos to explain meaning for this amateur. I found them to be highly ambiguous and they were lacking a clearly spelt out bill of materials (BOM). Again, shouldn't that be a must when a customer pays so much for this item? Maybe my BOM was missing so no big crime but it meant a fair bit of trial and error with screws, bolts and washers. Overall, it makes the bike look a little prettier but I have not noticed much benefit in wind shield. Its a cosmetic addition so far. Would I buy it again? No, at least, not the Classic version..can't forgive the thicker lines and crappy instructions set against the price.

    Trophy Fairing Classic Design
Installed this on my 2011 R1200R Classic. Had to wait a bit to receive it...suspect that they are painted to order. Everything arrived in good condition due to the care taken in packaging for shipment. Components are very good quality and the paint work was flawless. It took a couple of hours to install mine due to my fussy nature. The instructions say to put the headlight as far back as the adjustment will allow. In my case the fairing contacted the leading edge of the fuel tank. That problem was easily solved by moving the headlight forward. Wind protection is minimal but the airflow around my helmet is cleaner than with the Cee Baily's tall windscreen that I replaced. I am very pleased with the fit / finish and aesthetics. If the price had been $400ish I would have given a 5 star rating.

Beautiful Fit and Finish Looks Stock
I really can not add anything new to the positive comments that have already been made about this product. Installed this on my apple red 2011 R1200R and the color matches perfectly. The fit and finish are top notch. Everyone is correct about the difficulty with the instructions. I also found out by trial and error that the instructions that came with the fairing were inaccurate for my year/model regarding how to relocate the turn signals and run the wiring. Wouldn't you know it, after I installed it, I found additional instructions on the website that updated the directions and were applicable to my bike. I'm 5'7" and the fairing provides an air pocket up to just below my chin and not quite the width of my shoulders. It diverts much more air than the BMW sportshield I replaced. I can tell it is doing a better job of keeping the wind off me as I can feel more weight on my hands at low speeds, but at higher speeds there is enough wind against me to keep a neutral riding position that is very comfortable. My helmet is in a nice smooth airflow with little to no turbulence. The lines of the fairing match the bike beautifully, it looks like a stock part. The windshield has a nice dark smoke tint and is very thick. All mounting hardware is top notch. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. This is the best accessory I've purchased for my bike.

    Shoud be a factory option
As others have stated, the quality of the mounting parts and fairing are top notch and installation is relatively painless. I am 5'6" on a low seat and think the "wind protection" is excellent. The bike has never felt smoother nor looked better. Would have given 5 stars if it were not so expensive.

    This should be stock!!!!
The only reason why I'm giving this 4 stars is because it was over 800$. It looks great, fits very well and easy to put on, I had it on in about 30 mins. I'm 6'1" with a 32" inseam, wind protection is not very much it hits me in the chest but better than the touring screen where I was getting hit right in the face. It also looks great!!!

    Trophy Fairing Review
I found the Trophy Fairing for my R1200R to be very well made. All of the brackets and fasteners were of excellent quality. It was very easy to install, and has a factory look. It doesn't look like it was added on at all. Also the color match was very good. To tell the truth this fairing does not block a lot of wind. If wind protection is your main concern you will not like it. I purchased it mainly for the sporty looks and for that I give it an A+. The main reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is the lack of wind protection and also the price. You don't get a lot for your $800.00
