    Trophy Fairing - Unpainted

    Unpainted version

The fairing is made of lightweight but strong ABS silver colored plastic material. The plastic is coated with a high gloss layer that gives the panels a paint like quality.

    Nice Fairing
    | October 11th, 2021
Finally got my fairing painted and installed and took my first ride. I bought the touring screen which honestly does not extend much higher than the factory windshield however, it dramatically improves the airflow over most of my upper body and helmet. For reference, I am 5’10”. The airflow hits me right across the upper part of my shoulders but around my helmet it is smooth and quiet. The install, with a couple exceptions is pretty straightforward and includes All required hardware. As other reviewers have stated, the biggest PITA is accessing the tie wraps that need to be cut in order to extend the turn signal wires. The irony is that the turn signals don’t need to be extended to clear the edge of the fairing. It is strictly a mater of how Wunderlich designed the mounting hardware. That being said, the mounting is very solid and stable. The photos and instructions are not too bad but could benefit from including a hardware list and illustrations of bolt and washer sizes. All those pieces are lumped into one bag. Definitely separate everything out and do a mock layup ahead of time. As Wunderlich no longer offers the option to paint the fairing, you’ll either have to do it yourself or find a good shop. Turns out the paint code found on the bike is no longer in the BMW computers. You can buy paint from ColorRite using the code on the bike under the seat. I had the local BMW auto dealership’s collision center do the painting because it was convenient but, as expected, it was ridiculously expensive and the job was just, ok. I don’t think they care as much about a $500 fairing as they do an $85,000 sport sedan. Once installed, the fairing and windshield look fantastic and again, as others have said, really completes the look of the bike and functions as intended.
