Windscreen, Sport
The perfect windscreen for the R 1200 R. This minimalistic screen is hardly noticeable and blends in perfectly with the bike, yet it is large enough to significantly relieve pressure to the upper torso and head. This naked windscreen extends only 130mm beyond the fittings of the "R", leaving the sporty look of the roadster fully intact.
The facts:
- Height: 350mm
- Easy installation.
- Pleasant airflow to the rider.
- Significant relief of the upper body.
- Roadster design remains intact.
- Made of scratch and break-resistant acrylic plastic.
- Comes with all of the necessary hardware.
- Smoke Grey color.
- With ABE.

I am a mechanical novice, my specialty is stripping threads. Nonetheless, after some speed bumps (How to deal with a M5 Silemblock: unscrew the allen fitting end) I was successful and it looks spectacular. The instructions are basic. Some would call them inadequate. But I got it done.

My wife wanted a windscreen because windblast was a problem at speeds over 70 mph and she wasn't willing to slow down. While many of the windscreens on the market for the R1200R claim to move a lot of air out of the way, they also look "dorky" while doing so. The OEM BMW piece looks good but it's stupid expensive. This piece looks good, is effective, and well made. I have a 2016 R1200R with an OEM screen and the quality of this one is equal to it.

I wouldn't say it's "hardly noticeable", but it certainly does relieve pressure to my torso and head. I'm 5'6" so airflow hits me right at chin level, and, surprisingly, there is no helmet buffeting and turbulence. I use the windscreen in conjunction with Barkbuster Storm S1 handguards. Installation was a snap, and the brackets and hardware are quality kit. It looks sporty, not dorky like the factory screen, all the while retaining the highly coveted "roadster" appearance. Money well spent...thanks Wunderlich!
