What BMW created with the R1200 C is a unique and special looking custom bike.
The massive chromed "Renegade" crash bars not only protects the bike in case of a fall (which we "tested" ourselves - engine protection bar suffered scuffed chrome, rider's ego dented but the bike itself was fine), but they also fit very well with the "Custom" style of the bike. And in true freeway cruising style, the rider can rest his feet on the tubes. Made of massive 38 mm steel tubes with a top quality chrome finish. Very well made and exact, easy fitting. Removal of cylinder covers still possible. Service can be performed with the bars fitted.

I've been looking to install these bars as I've had a few close calls with low speed tipping. I bought these because they not only look good but, more importantly, they will still allow me to perform most of my maintenance with them in place. I took a leisurely 30 minutes or so installing the bars. I recommend hanging some soft cloths over the cylinder heads and telelever when positioning the bars to prevent any metal-on-metal contact while adjusting the fit. Also, download the instructions on this site to use along with the ones that came in the box.

I have a BMW R1200C and I wanted to protect the cylinders from any damage from low speed spills or bike falling over. I liked the look and easy fit for my bike. It took about 15 minutes or so to fit it on the bike. The instructions were simple and after a few minor adjustments it was good to go. I would recommend this product. These bars look nice and tubing size compliments the look of the bike. Having recently bought bars for my Harley that were a third of this price - I expected a little more. The tubing is VERY thin-walled and mounting welds and brackets look like they won’t take much abuse. My BMW R1200C has a flat Boxer engine with offset cylinders, so at this price a bar that was offset to cover both cylinders equally - protected both sides and matched the actual engine would have been nice. They look good overall but I really bought them for the protection ... hope not to find out but not overwhelmed with confidence in them.

This is a very high quality product. Installation is simple and straight forward. Fit and style is better than the pictures show. In my opinion it is more aggresive looking and flows better with the lines of the bike than the original BMW bars. Highly recommend it.
