The GS is one of the best all round bikes out there. Nevertheless, we are constantly looking for further improvements and always have an open ear for our customers. A point that our customers often bring up is the clearly perceptible, low-frequency roar of the GS, which occurs particularly in partial and full load operation at speeds between 80 and 130 km/h. Unfortunately, this is the speed range in which you drive most often. Or the one you least can avoid. During the test drives, we were able to identify the resonance chamber, which is roughly made up of the inside of the case and the entire rear wheelhouse, as the source of the noise.

It is the sound pressure escaping from the exhaust that stimulates the described space to resonate. This resonance chamber acts like a mechanical amplifier. It is the cause of the droning noise that is perceived as annoying and unpleasant, which can affect physical well-being by causing subjective stress and discomfort and thus distracting attention from what is happening on the road.Our GONZZOO exhaust deflector directs the exhaust jet away from this resonance chamber and shields the sound pressure laterally and upwards. This noticeably reduces the annoyance and the described effects of the roar.

The performance-influencing dynamic pressure is not changed, so that there is no loss of performance! Passers-by also perceive the GS as subjectively quieter, since the sound pressure is shielded on the side. The deflector shields the heat radiation from the exhaust gas flow, so that the heating of the case and the contents of the case is noticeably reduced. Installation is easy with spring holders, so that the compact deflector can be easily installed and removed at any time. The appropriate spring tool is included.
