Wunderlich Frame Sliders

The high-performance engine has an excellent relation between power and weight. Conversely, this means that the engine is very light and delicate in relation to its power and has little substance to counteract in the event of a fall. If the engine housing is damaged, it is usually impossible to continue riding. That is why the shape, material and construction of our RACING Pads offer optimum protection for the flanks of the motorbike, especially for the engine and clutch as well as the exposed units water pump and alternator. Tried and tested in racing. Our RACING protection pads were originally developed for racing use and used at Wunderlich MOTORSPORT. They are mounted on the right and left side of the frame with solid fasteners. On the left side we use a twist-proof 2-point mounting. For the right side, we have designed an elaborate, contour-precisely milled adapter with which the protective pad is mounted positively.

No modification to the fairing is necessary for mounting! The geometry of the RACING sanding pad is designed in such a way that it is not necessary to cut out the fairing in order to bolt it to the frame. Notching or cutting out the fairing carries the risk of damaging the fairing, so that it may have to be laboriously repainted. All this is unnecessary with our well thought-out solution, which also allows the protective pads to be simply retrofitted because the original shape of the fairing is retained. The protective pads distance the side flanks, engine and power units in the event of punctual or abrasive contact with the ground or road and can thus reduce or even prevent expensive damage to the motorbike. In addition to the choice of materials, we have integrated two essential, specific properties into the design and tested them in racing. Namely, damping and a frictional resistance that increases progressively in the sliding phase. The positive property is damping, which can absorb part or all of the impact energy in the event of sudden force impacts. The frictional resistance, increases progressively in the sliding phase and shortens the grinding or sliding phase - depending on the substrate - in terms of time and space. For optimum protection of your machine, we recommend the combination of our model-specific protection systems.
