    Description

    Ergo Low Seat, Active Comfort

The new generation of ERGO Seats: Well-thought through at every step of the design, with many innovative solutions. The original seat suffers from an unfavorable shape which places undue strain on the tailbone, and the angle of the seat leads many riders to adopt a bad pelvic position. To counter this we use a foam core with completely new contours and a unique fabric, developed with great care and at no small expense.

    Details:

    • 30mm (1-3/16") lower than the original R1200 GS seat
    • 50mm (2") lower than the original Adventure seat
    • Allows improved control, especially for those with a shorter inseam
    • Distinctly shaped (concave) seating area.
    • Relief of pressure on the tail bone and optimized weight distribution across the whole seat.
    • Progressive double-layer construction with soft upper layer and rigid core for even distribution of forces.
    • Non-slip, anti-perspiration material combined with "Alcantara" suede seams.
    • Strong "RoburC" seat pan of our own construction.
    • Protected document compartment underneath rider seat.
    • Classy recessed "cut" seams.
    • Seams glued and heat-sealed on modern PFAFF hot-air welding machines for 100% impermeability.
    • Made in Germany.

    NOTE:

    • This is the Rider seat only. The passenger seat is sold separately. To order a passenger seat, please see the link under the Related Products tab.
    • Please Note: If your bike has the factory low seat, you will also need to order the supplemental fitting kit, part number 8161142. Please see the Related Products tab.

    Awesome!
    | June 15th, 2020
Wish I would have bought it back in 2013. 6000 mile road trip and this baby feels great. Coupled with the seat guides, my bike is now very comfortable and the seat is a breeze to remove and put back on. Seriously, just buy it. You will not regret it.
    Love it !

I bought the seat to replace the standard height stock seat on my 1200 GSA because i was having a hard time tiptoeing at traffic lights but was not overly concerned with comfort. Immediately after installing the seat (very straightforward)i noticed that my height problem was solved.. :) The best part was the next day when I took off on a 400km ride - wow what a difference! Very comfortable and looks awesome. I would definitely recommend this product.
    Tail bone discomfort gone

Seat felt hard at first however, after around 300 miles I settled into the seat and love it. Over all it does what it said it will do, is worth every penny. Used the stock seat from coast to coast...it was very uncomfortable and within fifty miles I was in pain. I am looking forward to going to BMW MOA Rally in Missouri this summer. Would highly recommend this upgrade. Not to mention it looks real good and keeps you planted.

    No bum rest

I initially hesitated buying this seat - it is a bit expensive after all (as most aftermarket seats are). Now that I've put a few hundred miles on it I can say I am very satisfied. It is firm (not as firm as a Corbin, but more so than a Sargent), is nicely shaped and very well constructed (puts the stock seat to shame). I'm still waiting for the passenger seat to arrive...
