    Footpeg Lowering Kit

The original riding position of the GS is not equally comfortable for all riders. Tall riders have different requirements than small riders. The Wunderlich "Ergo" program of handle bar risers, seats and footrests, provides the components that allow each rider to "fine-tune" the riding position and posture to his or her own personal needs. This lowering set will move the rider's foot pegs down 40 mm (1-1/2"). The change in footrest position will increase the knee and hip angle, a benefit especially when touring. Better blood circulation and fewer cramps will make a full-to-empty tank ride much more enjoyable. The easy to install kit is made of silver anodized CNC machined high quality Aluminum and comes with all components needed, including the Boxer emblems for each side and clear installation instructions .

Please Note: Installing this or any foot peg lowering kit may cause reduced cornering clearance. Please ride accordingly.

This kit significantly improved the riding comfort on my GS. At 6'3" the original height was to cramped for my knees. Installation was simple and straightforward.
    Perfect.....almost.

The lowering hardware is a 5+; they are very well made. I am 6'6" with a 36" inseam and my 2004 1150GS was just too compact when it came to the seat to peg distance. While the distance the pegs are lowered may not sound like a lot when reading the description, the difference is dramatic. Truly. From crotchrocket ergos to reading chair comfort, my seating position is much improved. HOWEVER, the shifting side adjustments have been a bit frustrating. First, I had to lower the shifting lever enough that it hits(contacts) my side stand when in first gear or when down-shifting. To have the lever adjusted any higher has me really having to kick my toe way up to shift effwctively. I'll continue messing with that issue. Second, the heel bar on my side stand prevented me from sliding my foot over and under the shift level, so I had to cut the heel bar off; I'll have a friend re-weld it onto a different section of the kick stand that doesn't interfere with my shifting. This, to me, was the most serious issue and one that may have a bit to do with the fact that my kick stand has a bit of play in it and, when retracted, sits a bit out and away from the bike. I see no way to reduce that play, so cutting off the heel bar seemed to be the only solution. Finally, the kick stand does hit the bracket on the way up; not a huge issue, really, and is again related to the fact there is a bit of play in the kick stand. It still tucks away without difficulty, so no worries there. This all might warrant a '3' , but any time you mess with factory ergos, you have to expect some minor issues. Nothing insurmountable, and in the end the effect achieved by the lowering kit is very much worth the problems I'll continue to tweak and adjust as I get use to the new position. My knees are very happy!

I just returned from a 4800 mile ride that included a little over 1000 miles in Baja. I installed the footpeg lowering kit and Pivot Pegz before I left. I was attempting to achieve two goals with the new foot peg system. First I wanted a better riding position while I was riding off road and second I wanted to improve the angle of my right leg during the long rides on the slab. I\'ve recently had a total right knee replacement and I couldn\'t find a happy place for my new right knee with my old system. The foot peg lowering kit and the Pivot Pegz met and exceeded both of my goals. Long days on the slab were now knee friendly and the new offroad riding position impressed the heck out of me. I rode past Coco\'s Corner in both directions and did a run up to Mikes Sky Ranch. The improved \"Scout\" riding position on the bike increased my confidence and allowed me ride harder and faster. While I still consider sand to be enemy number one, the improved position on my R1150GS-Adventure kept me from taking any soil samples with expensive BMW parts. If you are a taller than average person like me and have body parts that don\'t function as well as they used to I would recommend this item. They are a bit pricy but are very well made and in my world worth every penny.

    Excellent Product

I'm 6'4 and the stock 1100GS riding position was very cramped. These made a huge difference in comfort. Machining quality was excellent and includes extensions to lower the shift lever position as well. After 4 years of use they were one of the better investments I've made in the bike. (FYI I think the other reviewer is speaking of the passenger foot peg lowering kit)

The wife loves them. Going from an LT to the GSA was not her choice but she is riding with me again now that I replaced the stock seat and added the Lowering Kit. Happy wife = happy family. It also lowered the peg enough that I can use them for a different riding position when I'm one up. And it doesn't move the pegs to a position that is in the way for off road.
