Compared with the original silver-colored version, our engine guard designed in Tool Design stands out thanks to its enlarged protection area. The functional design and structural integration of our engine guard protect the engine housing, oil sump and headers. It hugs the engine unit so closely that not only is the frontal exposed surface optimised, but ground clearance and lean angle clearance also remain virtually unchanged. The shape of the guard reduces the risk of unpleasant levering or snagging off-road, whether caused by branches, scree or rocks. Openings ensure that water collected after river crossings can drain away freely. The angled deflector plates divert stones or foreign objects thrown up by the front wheel in such a way that the risk of damage to the headers and engine is significantly reduced. Another advantage of this engine guard: it deflects splash water thrown up in surges downwards and, especially when the engine is hot, helps significantly reduce thermal stress on the engine housing, headers and seals.

The complex component shape and geometry are the result of optimising material thickness and weight, while at the same time allowing us to achieve high structural component rigidity and mechanical stability. The result is a robust, weight- and shape-optimised engine guard that hugs the engine unit so closely and organically that the design principle of “form follows function” becomes immediately apparent. The screw connections are countersunk, leaving no exposed contact surface, and perfectly underline the edge-design Adventure look. The high-quality engine guard is securely bolted on using precisely fitting connection points already present on the vehicle. External forces and torques are distributed across the mounts in order to reduce load and torque peaks. Vibrations are effectively absorbed.
