Effective protection for exposed valve covers – developed as a discreet alternative or complement to crash bars

The cylinders of a BMW boxer engine are exposed. Stone chips, a tip-over or contact with a wall during tight manoeuvring can quickly leave marks on the valve covers.

As they are rigidly mounted, they may deform upon impact – with the risk of leakage or impairment of the sensitive ShiftCam valve train. Our ULTIMATE R 1300 protectors address exactly this issue.

The protectors fit precisely to the contour of the valve cover with a minimal gap. The impact-resistant protector is made of fibre-reinforced high-performance plastic. On the inside, segments made of high-temperature-resistant, elastic material are integrated. These absorb external forces and distribute them evenly across the shell structure – effectively reducing force and moment peaks.

A form-fitted stainless steel protective insert acts as an abrasion guard in critical situations. It prevents damage to the magnesium valve cover and thus reduces the risk of oil loss and consequential engine damage. This often ensures that the motorcycle remains rideable even after an incident.

Installation is straightforward using the included kit.

Note:  on BMW standard or Option 719 ignition coil covers

Our valve cover and cylinder protectors also take over the function of the standard BMW ignition coil covers or the Option 719 versions. These are simply removed before installing our protectors.
