Footpeg Lowering Kit

The original riding position is not universally comfortable for all riders (tall riders have different requirements than smaller riders). As part of our "Ergo" program we provide the components for each rider to "fine-tune" the riding position and posture to his/her own personal needs. The rider set will move the footrests ~ 30 mm (1.18") down and slightly forwards. The change in footrest position will increase the knee and hip angle, a benefit especially when touring. Better blood circulation and less cramps will make a full-to-empty tank ride much more enjoyable. The kit is made of CNC machined and silver anodized high quality aluminum alloy and comes with all components needed. TÜV tested and approved.

When lowering the footpegs, the gear shifter and rear brake lever need to also be lowered accordingly. Our kit includes the hardware necessary to lower the rear brake. The shifter is lowered by adjusting the shift linkage.

Reviewed the video first and found this to be an easy install. These are high caliber components that look great on my bike. After installation I hopped on the bike for a quick 25 mile ride and discovered right away that my foot position is just a bit further east-west from the shift and rear brake levers then I care for. Forces me to point my boots inward to shift or brake. A bit troublesome but after a couple minutes I got used to it. Other than that I love the new riding position. I think the work around will be adding lever enlargers.

I wish I had done this sooner. The extra legroom makes a huge difference, and adjusting the levers was no problem at all. The pegs are now slightly wider but easily managed. I haven’t touched the pegs yet from leaning, but do not ride as aggressively as I used to either. 2024 R1250RT

At 5'8" and riding two up all the time, I wanted to get both feet down flat so I installed a lower seat which made my knee bend to extreme for touring. I installed this lowered footpeg kit and got my comfort back. Riding moderately aggressive two up, I have not touched the pegs down. I have tried lowered foot pegs from other vendors and found them lacking. Primarily due to not maintaining the correct brake pedal relationship to the lowered foot peg. This kit from Wunderlich is beautifully finished and properly designed to maintain the proper brake pedal and shift lever heights corresponding to the newly lowered foot pegs. This is an excellent product.

This kit is well made and installs pretty easily. I took my time and it was about 1.5 hours on my 2022 RT. The foot peg retainer springs do require a little bit of muscle to get back into place. The new difference in foot placement makes the rider triangle a little more tolerable without sacrificing performance. I did find a couple of discrepancies between the instructional video and reality. The smaller peg set screws take a 2.0mm wrench and not a 2.5 as stated. Also, the direction to loosen the shift lever linkage was opposite to what was depicted in the video. ** Added tip ** I wrapped the tips of my screwdrivers with a small amount of duct tape to avoid marring the finish of the brackets

Upon buying this foot peg lowering kit, I figured I would put it on in about an hour, which is double the 25 minute guideline on Wunderlich site. I loved the video, as it was clear, concise and complete. I took my time using the video as my complete guide. The machined aluminum parts were very nice, first class product. Everything went perfectly right up until trying to put the spring back on the foot peg. The right side took me over an hour and a bloody finger before I finally got it on. The video guy made it look VERY easy. Of course, I am not a young whipper snapper either. It would get so close to going on then thwang! I took a break and ate dinner before going back to the garage to put the left spring on. It went on in about 2 minutes with 3 attempts. I pretty much mangled the plastic spacer on the RH side while trying to put the spring on, but the LH side was unscathed. Perfect fitting, perfect quality, better comfort and a GREAT video to boot. I highly recommend this kit. If I did it again, I am sure I would get it done closer to the 25 minute timeline....maybe 45 minutes. 5 stars without question!

Great kit although a little pricey (thus the 4 stars). I was quite surprised to find that thread locker fluid was supplied in the kit. Installation time was spot on if you have all the required tools in hand and the You Tube video was invaluable. Most difficult step was re-installing the peg springs. Having had multiple right knee surgeries has impacted my ability to position my foot on the peg and still effectively cover the break lever without inducing ride killing pain. This kit has all but eliminated this issue and I now look forward to rides again. Thank you.
