    Description

    Hand Guard Enlarger, Black

With these hand guard enlargers, the original protectors get a completely new, classy appearance combined with unequaled wind and weather protection. Hands and arms are perfectly protected and don't get cold so quickly. The aerodynamically sculpted extension directs the airflow into controlled channels, largely bypassing the hands. An astonishing side-effect: reduced turbulence means that the fingers don't get cold so quickly from below. An additional feature of these hand guard extenders is the additional protection that they provide to the brake and clutch fluid reservoirs.

    The facts:

    • Excellent wind and weather protection.
    • Integrated brake and clutch reservoir guard.
    • Cooling down of the fingers (including the thumbs!), hands and forearms is prevented.
    • Reduced turbulence behind the guards.
    • Relief and more uniform flow toward the upper arms.
    • Dynamic Design (by Nicolas Petit) - exclusively for the R 1200 GS.

Made of solid-color ABS plastic. Simply bolted to the original BMW hand guards. Delivery as complete set (left and right), including mounting screws and installation instructions. The black very closely matches the finish of the original hand protector and blends in well.

    Cheap! Dollar store cheap!
    (deltona, florida) | December 9th, 2014
They work, that is the only good thing I can say. They do not belong on a BMW! Quality is like a bicycle part you would buy at wal-mart or the dollar store. Do Not buy if you care about quality parts on your motorcycle!
    Breaking Wind

My hands are warmer this year, I wish I had them right from the start on my 2012 R1200GS. It fits well, but I have used some gaffers tape to seal the very slight gap at the bottom of the extension. I am going to paint them this summer to match my bike.

    Better than OEM

Easy to install, provides much greater protection than OEM equipment. Excellent quality.
    too small, little gain
    (Santa fe, NM) | May 8th, 2012
This part replaces a piece on the newer R1200GS. The stock BMW part is clearly too small, however, this piece needs to be larger to offer any significant improvement in weather coverage. The quality and workmanship are first rate, its design is the issue for me.
much improved upper arm wind protection

Installed these guards on a 2011 GS Adventure. I'm 6'1" and installed an aftermarket windscreen to decrease wind buffeting around the helmet and chest. I still was dealing with a considerable amount of wind on my upper arms and decided to give the Wunderlich enlarged hand guards a try. They eliminated the problem and made it possible to ride with unlined gloves in sub 40 degree temps. Thx for a great product. try. They eliminated

I ride 365 days per year (not all that heroic, as I live in the San Francisco Bay Area) for commuting and pleasure. Becasue I ride with my midddle and index fingers covering the brake and clutch levers at all times, these fingers benefit very little from the heated handgrips. So I was looking for someting that would provide better protection to keep my thumb and these other digits from turning blue on colder days and higher elevations. These hand guards seem to fit the bill. They are easy to install, the fit is perfect, and the style and finish are good. [Note that removing the existing deflectors for me was a little tricky, because the middle fastener was attached with a vinyl threadlock nut that was in a recess too large to keep the nut from spinning and too small to accomodate a socket, but that may have been unique to my bike, and certainly not the fault of Wunderlich.]
