Engine protectors? They're typically found on adventure bikes built for off-road use. But an underbody protector makes sense on other motorcycles too – just like hand guards, which were once exclusive to enduro riders.

Our STREET engine protector, styled in Tool Design, is engineered using the same rigorous product standards and construction principles as our ULTIMATE engine protector for the R 1300 GS and GS Adventure.

Its functional design and seamless integration protect the engine housing, oil sump and headers. It hugs the engine tightly, reducing frontal impact surface and maintaining maximum ground and lean clearance. The shape also minimizes the risk of scraping or grounding – for example, when crossing curbs with a fully loaded bike. Drain holes allow water to escape freely.

The integrated ventilation slots support cooling of the engine and its components – particularly important on long highway journeys.
Angled deflection plates divert rocks and debris thrown up by the front wheel, helping prevent damage to the headers or engine. Another benefit: it deflects splash water downward – especially useful when crossing ruts or puddles – helping reduce thermal stress on the hot engine, headers and gaskets.
Its complex form and geometry are the result of a careful balance between wall thickness, weight and strength. The result is a robust, lightweight and precisely engineered protector that wraps around the engine organically. Its "form follows function" philosophy is immediately evident. All fasteners are recessed to eliminate snag points and further reinforce the Edge Design aesthetic.

The high-quality protector bolts securely to existing mounting points on the bike. External forces are distributed efficiently to avoid stress peaks, and vibrations are effectively absorbed. In true Wunderlich fashion, ease of maintenance was a key priority – there's even a dedicated cut-out for convenient oil changes. The aluminum is corrosion resistant and finished in powder coat, with a discreet Wunderlich logo.
