Folding Headlight Guard, Clear ADV

Designed to fit the Water Cooled R1200 GS 2013 to 2016 & R1200 GS Adventure fom 2014 onward.**

This protector is made of a transparent, clear and shatterproof Lexan material, supported by a laser cut, coated black steel frame. This type of protector will prevent even the smallest particle from smashing against your head lamp. At the top, there are two brackets attached with ball sockets and in the corresponding location on the headlight guard are rubber sockets, so the guard positively snaps into place and the guard is then supported at four points.

The top of the guard can be 'snapped' out of the fastening points and folded down easily for cleaning.

Fantastic look, a little contrary to install. Only negative I can see is there is some glare from the guard when the headlight is on high beam and this in turn hits the windscreen to provide even more glare. I am almost used to it but it is still a nuisance.

Turkey vulture, to the head lamp at 65 mph. No damage, one small scratch but not to the bikes head lamp lens or to the bike. Stopped bent it back in place, replaced the sacrificed plastic lens when I got home; it did shatter; I couldn't be happier with a stellar performance of a great product. This is the one to get and I like the flip down cleaning feature.

Love the look and design of this piece, the installation is tricky but not hard. I think they over thought this one in my opinion. Giving 3/5 because the black version came with chrome bolts that don't do it justice, all this design thoughts and then ugly non matching chrome bolts was a big miss in my opinion.

A bit tricky to install, but worth it

I like the fold down aspect of this guard as it allows you to get both sides of the plastic clean. It also looks more integrated to the bike, for me. The install is a bit finicky, getting the bottom nuts to stay in, but that also is what blends it well into the bike. Alignment seemed a bit off once everything was in, but I was able to push things into place without issue. There are two different protective films on the plastic- don't forget to peel off both!

This is a great headlight guard. Works as advertised. Clear headlight cover material is plenty heavy duty for the task. It was a bit challenging to get the lower brackets installed on my 2015 GSA but I managed with fingers and screwdriver to get the nut to drop upside down in the hole BMW so kindly provided. Overall very happy with the purchase.
