Footpeg Lowering Kit
The original riding position is not universally comfortable for all riders, tall riders have different requirements than small riders. This is a key component of Wunderlich's "Ergo" program, providing the components for each rider to "fine-tune" the riding position and posture to his or her own personal needs. This peg lowering kit fits the R1200 ST, R1200 R and R nine T and it drops the pegs by 20mm (3/4"). The change in footrest position will increase the knee and hip angle that can make all the difference during those long trips. Better blood circulation and fewer cramps will make a full tank ride much more enjoyable.
The brackets are made of black anodized aluminum, which blend in with the color of the frame and make the modification hardly noticeable. The kit includes all components needed to lower the pegs and also to lower the brake and shift levers accordingly. Approved by the strict German TÜV.

I purchased the Wunderlich footpeg lowering kit for my R1200R. installation was trivial, and exactly as the Wunderlich video showed. The kit was nicely machined and fit precisely. The pegs were lowered about an inch, not enough to cause ground clearance issues on turns, but enough to give the bike a decidedly more comfortable riding posture. Once installed, you really need to look hard to detect the kit, it blends in very well with the rest of the bike. I was a little worried about the brake line for the rear break, but that was easy to bend slightly as indicated in the instructions and video to attach to the new bracket. The installation of the kit required not disconnection of the brake line, eliminating the need for bleeding the brakes. The footpeg kit is very well made and a very good solution for providing a little more legroom on your BMW boxer.

Drops the footpegs a useful 3/4 inch, for a more relaxed riding position. Easy to install, perfect fit.

This kit kinda takes the edge off of the cramped feeling of the low comfort seat or the standard bench seat (800 mm). The kit really does look almost stock. I have yet to scrape the footpegs although I'm not the worlds most aggressive rider. I even managed to install the brakeline extension on the right side without having to bleed the brakes. Just screw the spacer into the right side fitting and fill with a little brake fluid, hold your finger over the open end of the brakeline after disconnecting it, and then quickly place the parts together and tighten. Well engineered and well fitting parts. Again hardly noticeable and yet "noticeable".
